The Blessings of Having Been Carded

This beautiful dove, handmade & painted by the children of Hartford, is perched above our doorway to our family room. She patiently awaits with remnants of a prayer flag near her tail wing, for the cards that will one day keep her company again.

Yesterday was the day, to finally take down all the holiday cards. I usually am able to leave them up a bit longer, but this year probably due to the excessive dryness from the heat, they began their own process. One card here, another there, you know how that goes....
Just as putting them up when the season begins, taking them down too, is a very thoughtful process-

Am living in the zone here as the Poetry A Muse In Motion Project, clicks along the Internet, here at the Peace Garden. In this New Year I have a few new ideas of course, one of them is the introduction of adding different themes from time to time. This idea was suggested to me by our son Mike, he's the one who inspired me to embark on this poetry project. One is never to old to learn new things, & I will definitely not shy away from challenging myself by learning new things to enrich a process. All of it helps to replenish the garden, keeping it fertile. The first theme in this new genera is to be Olives. There are so many different varieties of olives from all over the world. They are tasty, healthy, beautiful & biblicaly symbolic. So we'll delve in, learn something new, & with a few samplings along the culinary way to discovery, & have some fun too.
