Spring's Awakening & Midway Through Woman's History Month
Strong Expressions In Kindness
a house of worship
prayer
born of my year
knows languages
modern
ancient times
of Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic
perhaps
humility
questioned, of this you told
in stated earnest
words,
five to nine
short
minutes
spent
five years ago,
of me not much
I chose to share
my work
and life
so
mentioned
from time
to
time
together
all,
united
in
a
prayerful mind
each
our request
life's
blessings,
from above
for those on earth
and those
no
longer
in conversation
word
for
word
so iron strong
confronting and abrasive
when past
decision
measures
not
there's pause, no hesitation
a long
short night
in site
such cutting
tone
of
words
rounded
in
thoughts,
my mind
weary
wanting
knowing
not to offend
be kind
it has a price
knowing better
yet you
do not
a contradiction
ancient oath
of first
not doing harm
such women who have
risen
high
red tents,
societies
of
order
not thinking
yet
they think
my mother too
crush
at times,
the gentle flowers
in their
way
success
it
has
these costs

The above poem deals of course with a very basic problem, that confronts many a woman. We love to celebrate in the success of our fella sisters, but elements recently mentioned certainly continues to muddle the playing field of our mutual gardens. Individuals have of course their own personal need to take on life, in whatever manner they so choose, & I am certain that in order to raise to the top of any field that was originally dominated by men in our society a woman back in the day, & perhaps still does, have a conditioning from within to be strong & to challenge. That is of course an excellent instinct, in navigating in their chosen professional worlds. But for day to day, & the lighter forms of social encounters that our tribal societies move about, & congregate in, treating another with disrespect, by not choosing words carefully creates a toxicity in life's garden. When we remember to be kind, it is a form of strength, & though another may view it in an opposite way, those of us, who are grown from a genre of sensitivity, know deep down to our very roots, that in order to get along, to create a harmonious world, peace, love & understanding, remains the words of the day, as we aim for this in our lives, in our, actions, thoughts & deeds. I could choose to put this poem aside, & let it sit in a manila folder of sorts, & never have it see the light of day, that would be one way. Yet I know for certain, that I am not the only woman on this planet, who has had to deal with this topic, & this is Woman's History Month after all, of which this is one of our collective, her stories too. The issue recently presented does crop up, from time to time, in many of our given lives, in ways that are often skimmed over, excuses made for, & often not talked about. We've come so far as a gender now, how could we ever think that it has been nothing more than wonderful, but we woman are the communicators, & we do know those other stories. And about personality, those who do not, have a, go along to get a long element in their dna, do know very well, that it is the suppression of a person's individual truth, as my Rabbi, so skillfully taught so many years ago, with the example of the Story of Jonah, that was reinforced within my own very heart & soul, that we all need to live, & if necessary speak our truths, for if an individual wants to truly invite disharmony in their lives, true, it may be easier for some to go along, but unless we face whatever it is within our own selves, & honestly & effectively deal with it, it will & does, repeat, & repeat & repeat. So, I will utilize an infamous phrase of my father's by simply saying, "enough already". This topic is never an easy one, as it has been the cause of immense pain, but no matter which way a person chooses to deal with it, it's the intention, of these expressions, that are so important. My intentions are simple yet complex, to live my own truth, as we all are intended to do, to express, & not repress myself as an artist, as we all go forward in healing our lives....
Please help me God.
Amen, Amen, Amen

I am repeating yesterday's quote from one who is beloved, admired & respected, as it so applies to today's posting-
Is another fine link, that includes an essay regarding aspects of what can be added to the above discussion.
