After peddling many hills & many miles, look who was at our destination to greet me. These beautiful animals are new his season to the farm at the Golden Lamb Buttery, Brooklyn, Ct.
What a sweet surprise I must say, & enjoying the camera action too, as they stood right next to me, & patiently posed.
This beautiful post & beam barn, just below houses the Golden Lamb Buttery which sits so loftily looking out onto the unspoiled landscape....
Our family's elite athlete, waiting for me to catch up, how long the wait was, I couldn't really say. We logged in a total of eight miles this afternoon. Yea, spring is upon us, & farewell winter, we're heading for a blooming change...
Truly what a beautiful day for the first day of our oncoming spring! My husband's idea was to begin this new season by getting our bikes out of the barn, & trekking off for a ride. It certainly was well worth it, after figuring out just how many layers to put on, as you do tend to warm up fast, after a few up hills & all. This was the first time I ever wore a helmet, as it is an important aspect of riding safely & all. It was always something we provided for our kids when they were growing up, but there need not be an exclusion for any of us, being as safely prepared as possible, so yes, I wore one today, too.
I have aspects of the tragic emergency ongoing in Japan, in my mind everyday, & now add to that the UN approved no fly zone, military action which several countries are participating in, including the U.S., that has been going on this past weekend. I for one, am at odds with this decision & action, but the voices of reason in this world, are small in comparison to those that make decisions & instigate these kinds of action.
So, to say I enjoyed the first day of spring is an understatement, as some of the tragic events, that are ongoing worldwide, & also personally, are with us, each & every day in our hearts. Yes, these are definitely overwhelming times, & I say to each & every one of us, look up at the sky, take a breathe, & enjoy the springiness of your day. To enjoy the gift of a life, some days may be a challenge, but we need to, in order to take care of ourselves, & one another too.
