It's been one of those summers when one can really appreciate those sturdy & resilient plants, that have the strength & determination to not only mingle with the weeds, but flourish...
We were most fortunate to attend the performance of the Kenny Barron Trio, last Thursday evening at Wesleyan University, in Middletown, Ct.
The above is a very simple, yet intricate labyrinth on Wesleyan's campus, which we discovered during our meanderings just before trio time...
In the photo below is my husband contemplating as he does the walk...
Our majestic yucca, in all her radiant glory...
The humble yet essential parsley in her newly created spot...
Tiger lilies transplanted over a decade ago, & as happy as any sun loving lily can be...
Mid Summer's Day Dream
summer's a cooking, way down the pike
with yellows and oranges, pinks that delight
temps in the 90's with weeds in full view
so I will meandeaour, take in summer's hue
walk round a field track, perhaps it's a maze
when all's said and done comes the end of this haze...
I know that it's worth it, our time in the heat
and when one is lucky, the people they meet
it's part of a story, your story too
we all grow in wisdom, no not just the few
together we manage, must practice each rhyme
for flowers are fleeting, and thus is our time

I just Loved your light airy Poem Cheryl. I expecially liked the line, "We all grow in Wisdom". Of course your pictures always capture the moment you are in. I come away feeling REFRESHED and SMILING! LOL, b. Malin
