I know that man, from the east....
As amazing as it appeared to us, & we reread the signs to be sure we understood, it appears a bridge is going up in Big Sur, right in this location & what a feat, that is....
I was extremely swept away, by this experience, the majesty & the beauty, of it all...
The artist/proprietor of The Village Shops, Francesca is a warm & friendly gal, who is a native of Big Sur. When you meet her, you want to stay & "tarry awhile".....
These choice special items, will arrive, any day now...

These long & winding roads, from the car, never got old....
This man, is from my native land...
Traveling Big Sur on Highway 1 is not something I can adequately describe. My photos will capture some, but not all of what we saw. We started out in true fog, it was around 11:30am when we first began to ascend. The views were packed in with such thick fog & mist, & so much so, that the ocean could not be seen in certain locations, for on various sides, of all these ridges & mountains there was no difference visibly between sea & sky, depending on where the road curved & whether we were due north, south, east or west, in relationship to our star, the sun.

The star of the event was The Big Sur, of course, & let me tell you, when they all say it's a "must see", listen closely, as Californians know what they're talking about, "In a big way."
We did eventually experience some sun, & when that happened, it was truly something to rejoice about. I think our stopping at The Village Shop, proved helpful in the long run, for not only did we get a chance to get out of the car & stretch, but The Village Shop, along this windy by-way, of a mountain road, proved in hind site an excellent solution, as it gave the sun a chance to do her thing, & by the time we were to ascend again, there was noticeably less fog in places. I, for as far back as I can recall, can be a "shop till I drop" kind of gatherer, & my husband makes extreme efforts to be patient & kind regarding this hobby that many of my gender, have perfected far better than I. In this situation the pay off was excellent, for the browsing & shopping experience was a lot of fun, talking to & getting to know the proprietor/artist, who is is a friendly, warm & informative gal. She told us she has the work of 20 or more artists, in this gallery, all of whom are local people. As we speak, our selection is boxed & homeward bound, via/the U.S. Postal Service. It will be fun to unpack, when it finally arrives.
{The Village Shops, a beautiful & fun gallery to stop at is at 46840 Hwy One Suite #6
